Situated in the charming, picturesque village of Clarens in the Eastern Free State, San Rock Guest House sets the standard for superior accommodation. Set within a lush 3000 sq. metre garden with spectacular mountain views, the following modern facilities are offered:

Accommodation

Main House Accommodation: Enormous kitchen with state-of-the-art facilities, including oven, hob (gas stove), microwave and dishwasher. Open-plan, large lounge with satellite television (DStv) and separate dining room with 8-seater table. The double sided fireplace between lounge and dining room (wood supplied) makes for cosy winter evenings. Enjoy balmy evenings on the undercover patio area with fan and built-in barbeque/braai (wood supplied), enjoying both the garden and mountain views. Main bedroom suite with private upstairs patio. Two further bedrooms with a full bathroom and separate toilet. An additional guest toilet is situated off the entrance hall. Luxuriously appointed twin beds, linen and towels are provided in all rooms. Underfloor heating and fans throughout.

The Loft Accommodation: The Loft is, quite simply, spectacular and may be used as a romantic honeymoon suite. Totally separate from the Main House, it offers in excess of 60 square metres of accommodation comprising bedroom (king size bed)/lounge with open-plan fully equipped kitchen, with satellite television (DStv), underfloor heating, fans, and a full bathroom.

Guest Suite Accommodation: The separate, very popular, guest suite comprising bedroom, kitchenette (microwave, sink, fridge, etc.) underfloor heating throughout and full bathroom. The Guest Suite may be booked separately or as part of the main house and sleeps two people. It has its own entrance as well as double doors onto its private patio looking onto the mountain.

  • Please note that, with regret, children under the age of 12 will only be accommodated under special circumstances.

Directions

Directions: From Johannesburg 1. Take N3 - Heidelberg, Durban Highway. 2. Go through one toll gate. 3. Continue past the Villiers/ Vereeniging turn-off, cross the Vaal River. 4. Soon after the Engen One Stop, turn off at the Villiers/Frankfort off ramp (±47 km from the first toll gate) Note: if you go through a second toll gate, you have gone too far! 5. Turn right at the top of the off-ramp and cross over the highway towards Frankfort (R26) 6. 30 kms from turn-off turn right at the T-Junction (R26) 7. 7 kms from T-Junction turn left at Reitz/Bethlehem direction sign (still R26). 8. 58 kms from turn, you by-pass Reitz en route to Bethlehem. 9. 53 kms from Reitz, you reach Bethlehem. 10. Continue straight through Bethlehem, past Wimpy, Mr Price, etc. 11. 7 kms from Bethlehem, turn right towards Clarens. 12. 28 kms further, turn right into Clarens Village 13. Proceed up Main Street, around the square, (Street Café on left, Post House restaurant on right), pass the big stone church on your right. 14. Just after the Tina de Beer gallery turn right into van Reenen Street. 15. Go down through the dip and turn left into Le Roux Street. 16. Go up the hill, cross over Malherbe Street and turn left into Collett Street. 17. The house is on the left on the corner of Collett Street and Le Roux Street, No 58 Collett Street.
