Bentwood Inn offers delightful B&B and self-catering accommodation among the foothills of the Southern Drakensberg, a World Heritage Site. Nestling just outside the quaint village of Underberg, in the foothills of Hlogoma Mountain we offer our guests a tranquil and scenic setting in which to relax and unwind.

ACCOMMODATION

Lilac-Breasted Roller Cottage
The main guest cottage is a charming split-level unit comprising an upstairs bedroom with queen-size bed, full bathroom, lounge / dining area with two pull-out single beds, TV and a small kitchen complete with microwave, mini-oven and fridge. Relax on the patio overlooking the tranquil garden and spot a bird or two. Braai facilities are available in the garden under the oak tree.

Giant Kingfisher Cottage
This pretty cottage consists of a double bedroom with double bed, TV, shower, toilet and small kitchenette with fridge and microwave oven and griller. A table and chairs on the patio provide an opportunity for you to put your feet up and enjoy the garden.

Crested Barbet Cottage
A cozy Bentwood Inn cottage comprising a comfortable double bedroom with twin beds, TV and a shower and toilet. Tea and coffee-making facilities are provided as well as a microwave oven. A table and chairs under the trees allow you to relax in the garden and watch the many birds which frequent our bird feeders.

Hoopoe Cottage
This cottage consists of a bedroom with double bed, small front area with single bed and table and chairs, TV, shower, toilet and small kitchenette with fridge, microwave oven and hot plate. The covered patio provides shaded seating.

Directions

DIRECTIONS Coming from Bulwer, take the turn-off to Old Main Road in Underberg which is a kilometre (plus/minus) after Pucketty Farm. Look for our brown–and-white sign on your left. Right turn off the R617 into Old Main Road which will take you past the Underberg School (on the left) and the Congregational Church (on the right). Please watch out for two very big speed bumps. Drive along until you reach a junction and at the D8 sign turn right into Woodford Road. We’re No 5 just around the corner. If you’re coming from the KZN South Coast via Kokstad and Swartberg, you drive into Underberg. Carry on along the main road until you reach Underberg Meat Supply. Just after this you’ll see our brown-and-white sign. Turn left here into Old Main Road (watch out for a huge speed bump). Drive along Old Main Road until you reach the D8 sign. Turn left here into Woodford Road. We’re just around the corner at No 5.
